PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic head which has high recording and reproducing efficiencies and has a good yield of production, by providing a joined block, where a nonmagnetic material and a high-permeability magnetic material are joined into one body so that their joint is tapering, and a reinforcing block which is provided with a winding hole and consists of photosensitive glass. CONSTITUTION:A joined block 14 and a reinforcing block 15 consisting of photosensitive glass are joined (by the glass welding method, the organic adhesion method, or the like) after respective joint surface sides are polished to specular surfaces, and the face opposite to the face, which is joined to the reinforcing block 15, of the joined block 14 is polished to a specular surface as a joint surface 14a to obtain the first half block 16. Joint surfaces 14a and 15a' of the first half block 16 and the second half block 18 are butted to join these blocks. A main body block 19 obtained in this manner is cut at intervals of a length W1 corresponding to a required head width, and winding holes 20 and 20' are provided in reinforcing blocks 15 and 15', and the tip part is rounded, and windings are provided. |
