PURPOSE:To form to a formed product having good surface conditions at excellent current efficiency and working efficiency by making the surface of forming die of an electromagnetic forming device non-metallic such as ceramics, resin etc. CONSTITUTION:A work made of metal 2 is put in the forming die 3, and a solenoid coil 1 is placed in it. The work 2 is pressed against the forming die and formed by force F generated by interaction of a magnetic field generated by applying large current in the solenoid coil for a short time and induced current in the work 2. If the forming die 3 is made of metal in this case, induced current is generated in the forming die 3 to lower its current efficiency, or defects due to lowering of working efficiency and discharge traces on the surface of the work 2 etc. are caused. Occurrence of above-mentioned defects is prevented by using porcelain such as ceramics etc. as the forming die 3 or by attaching an epoxy resin containing fillers of glass fiber, silica sand etc. on the surface of the forming die 3. |
