PURPOSE:To anneal continuously a strip consisting of a low-melting metal with high thermal efficiency in the stage of annealing continuously said strip by providing a gas sealing device in the communicating part between the heating zone and cooling zone of an annealing device and using a part of the atmosphere in the heating zone as an atmosphere for the cooling zone. CONSTITUTION:A strip W made of a low melting metal such as cooper alloy is first put into a direct firing type heating zone 1 and the high temp. combustion gas from a burner 4 is injected from a static pressure pad 7 and nozzle 8 to support afloat and heat the strip W in the stage of annealing continuously said strip W. The strip is then admitted into a cooling zone 11 through a communicating part 9 provided with a gas sealing mechanism 10. A part of the atmosphere in the zone 1 is passed through a duct 19 and a rinsing device 21 by a suction fan 20 by which the atmosphere is cooled to about 60 deg.C and the metallic vapor is solidified and removed. Such gas enters the zone 11 where the gas is cooled by a cooler 12 and supports afloat and cools the strip W. Since the heating zone 1 and the cooling zone 11 are insulated atmospherically by the mechanism 10, the heating and cooling efficiency in both zones 1, 11 are improved. |
