PURPOSE:To enable automation of braiding of a reinforcing steel cage that does not cause lowering of toughness at spot welded part by winding a spiral reinforcement around vertical reinforcement made of PC steel bars arranged to cylindrical form and fixing intersections of the vertical and spiral reinforcements mutually by clips. CONSTITUTION:Vertical reinforcements 1 made of plural PC steel bars are arranged in cylindrical form along a cylindrical face. A spiral reinforcement 2 pulled out from a winding frame is let out from a guide 3 and wound spirally on the outer periphery. Clips 7 are supplied from a clip supplying device 4 one by one at positions where the vertical reinforcements 1 and spiral reinforcement 2 are superposed. The clips 7 are struck by cooperation of a reciprocating hammer 5 and a supporting stand 7 that contacts to and separates from the vertical reinforcements 1 cooperating with the hammer, and the clips are fitted over the vertical reinforcements 1 and spiral reinforcement 2, and fix them to each other. Thus, braiding of steel reinforcements can be mechanized automatically using PC steel bars without depending on welding.
