PURPOSE:To make it possible to rapidly transfer containers, by temporarily laying a container on a temporary depot carrier vehicle which is moved integrally with a container crane, and then by shifting the container onto a transfer carrier vehicle after the container is laid in position with respect to the transfer carrier adjacent to the temporary depot carrier vehicle. CONSTITUTION:Upon landing of a container, the container is unloaded onto a temporaty depot carrier vehicle 10. Then, a pressing plate 31 is actuated by a hydraulic cylinder 32 constituting a positioning device to adjustably shift the containter in the travel direction of a crane so that the container is set in position with respect to a transfer carrier vehicle 29. Then a motor cylinder 26 is operated to lift up the container by means of left and right forks 28, and thereafter a drive device 19 moves the forks 28 toward the transfer carrier vehicle 29 in order to load the container onto the transfer carrier vehicle 20. With this arrangement, it is possible to prevent the container from being deflected and to rapidly shift the container onto the transfer carrier vehicle 29. |
