发明名称 IRON POWDER HAVING HIGH MOLDABILITY FOR POWDER METALLURGY
摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain titled iron powder having improved moldability by improving the shape of oxide film sticking to the iron powder produced by a spraying method and decreasing the oxygen content in the iron powder. CONSTITUTION:The oxygen content after spraying of the iron powder produced by a spraying method and before the reduction annealing treatment thereof is reduced by hydrogen to >=0.20% by weight. Such iron powder is subjected to the reduction annealing treatment in an inert gaseous atmosphere of N2, Ar or the like at a high temp. of 800-1,100 deg.C. The film-like oxide film covering the surface of the iron powder is thus stuck in a tear-like form 2 on the surface of the iron powder 1 and the oxygen content after the reduction annealing treatment is reduced by hydrogen to <=1.0% by weight. The iron powder has excellent powder moldability and the oxide 2 in the tear-like form bites like a wedge into the iron powder when molded, thereby binding securely the iron powder particles 1 to each other.
