PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal recording body having excellent printing preservability without lowering the dynamic sensitivity of a recording layer, by providing a protective layer containing a specific amount of a coloring agent and/or a sensitizer on a thermal recording layer containing a color forming agent and the coloring agent. CONSTITUTION:A thermal recording layer containing a known colorless or light colored basic dye and an acidic substance contacted with said basic dye is formed onto a support and a protective layer containing at least one of 0.1- 25wt%, pref., 0.5-15wt% of a coloring agent and a sensitizer is provided on the thermal recording layer. As the coloring agent, the org. acidic substance contained in the recording layer is pref. used. As the sensitizer, a hindered phenol compound and dimethylterephthalate are designated. The protective layer can contains a water-soluble polymer or pigment other than the aforementioned components and the coating amount thereof is 0.1-20g/m<2> as a dry wt. Furthermore, a combination of a color forming agent and a coloring agent other than ones due to this example is enabled. |
