PURPOSE:To prevent the deterioration of the recording density characteristics due to the tip wear of a main magnetic pole, by increasing the wear resistance to contact between a nonmagnetic material and a recording medium compared with the wear resistance of a holding material. CONSTITUTION:A material having large wear resistance to contact driving of a recording medium 4 compared with a holding member 7 uses a nonmagnetic material 2 which holds a thin film 3 of high permability. Therefore, the wear degree of the member 7 is larger than that of a main magnetic pole 1, and a gap 9 is produced at the area of the member 7. Then the tip part 10 of the pole 1 always hold a good contact state with the medium 4 with no gap. As a result, the high recording density is never deteriorated. For combination of both materials 2 and 7, a material of high hardness containing mainly Al2O3, etc. is used for the material 2 with a material containing mainly glass, etc. used for the material 7 respectively. It is desirable to use the material 7 which has lower hardness than the material 2 and is easily worn out. |
