发明名称 BALANCED FREQUENCY MULTIPLIER MADE INTO MICROWAVE INTEGRATED CIRCUIT
摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain a frequency multiplier which has a multiplication gain even in a high frequency band by constituting a balanced frequency multiplier which includes no BPF by using an opposite-phase distributor operating even in the high frequency band. CONSTITUTION:Microstrip lines 41 and 42 which are as long as each other are formed on a dielectric substrate 16 in parallel and opposite to each other, and one-side terminals are bent at right angles and connected mutually. A slot line 43 is formed in a grounding conductor layer 18 on the other surface of the substrate 16 and crosses said lines 41 and 42 at the coupling point at right angles and its one terminal 45 is short- circuited so that the length between the short-circuiting point 45 and coupling point 44 is a half as long as the wavelength of an input signal, thereby the input signal of an input port 1 with the lines 41 and 42 excellently. The other-side terminals of the lines 41 and 42 are connected to gate electrodes 11 and 12 of FETs 8 and 9 by gold wires 13 and 14; and frequencies obtained from drain electrodes 31 and 32 are multiples of the frequency of the input signal, but odd terminals are opposite in phase and even terms are in phase. Therefore, when the outputs of the FETs 8 and 9 are mixed in in-phase relation by a microstrip line 35, a frequency of only even order appears at the output of an output port 37 and a multiplied wave is obtained.
