PURPOSE:To minimize the pressure force and to discharge the titled device smoothly by installing the power transfer means which shuts off the transfer of the power from the record medium cassette holding means to the drive source side. CONSTITUTION:When a rack 29 is pushed by the manual operation in the arrow A direction when the cassette is inserted, a gear 59 and a flange 60 are rotated in the counter-clockwise direction. Since a loading motor 19 is not operated, a gear 64, a cylinder part 65 and a tooth part 66 are not rotated, and consequently, an engaging part 67a of a board spring 67 slides on a tooth part 66. A loading motor 19 is rotated in the cassette discharge direction when the cassette is discharged, and a gear 64, a cylinder part 65 and a tooth part 66 are rotated in the clockwise direction. For this reason, a flange part 60 and a gear 59 are rotated in the same direction through the engagement of a engaged part 67a of a board spring 67 and a root part of a tooth part 66. Consequently, a rack 29 is sent in the arrow B direction.
