PURPOSE:To obain stably a satisfactory head gap by facilitating easy positioning for the 1st and 2nd reinforcement plates as well as both core halves in a head assembly mode by butting a pair of core halves held between both reinforcement plates and furthermore avoiding revolutions of those core halves when they are butted together. CONSTITUTION:A frame body 5 contains the 1st and 2nd reinforcement plates 1 and 2 as well as core halves 3 and 4 which are held between the plates 1 and 2 with butting faces put opposite to each other. Then a contact is obtained between the outer face 52a of a rear side 52 and a cover plate 6, and a hollow part corresponding to projected part 56 of a side part 53 is pushed more inside with a holder plate 7. Thus the halves 3 and 4 separated from each other as shown by broken lines are moved within the surfaces of both plates 1 and 2 to be attached close to each other. Under such conditions, the resin serving as a binder is impregnated and hardened. Then a rounding process is carried out to protrude a tape touching face 8. Thus a magnetic head is obtained. In such a way, the yield is improved for the butting process of head cores.
