PURPOSE:To rightly adjust tone at the time of printing by providing plural heating resistors whose heating areas are gradually changed to a size of 1/2 at a place where they are not lapped on each other at the time of printing of a picture element on one picture element line. CONSTITUTION:A base plate 10 is shifted by a picture element in such a way that a heating resistor E comes to the position of the present resistor F. Since, when the plate 10 is shifted by one picture element, leader lines 12b and 12c between heating resistors B and C come to the position of the present heating resistor F, the base plate 10 is shifted by one picture element as space shift. Thereby, the resistor B comes to the position of the present resistor F. Lastly, when the plate 10 is shifted by one picture element, the resistor A comes to the position of the present resistor F. In short, the plate 10 is shifted by one picture element each, 8-click shift (shift of 8 picture element) is made toward the right direction, and tonal recording for one picture element is made.
