PURPOSE:To obtain a material for a permanent magnet, saturation magnetization thereof is high and an anisotropic magnetic field and a Curie temperature thereof are improved, by further adding Si to R-Fe-B group and R-Fe-Co-B group alloy groups. CONSTITUTION:A material for a permanent magnet by this invention has compositions of (1), R(BxSiyFe1-x-y-)A:(where R represents the combination of one kind or two kinds or more of rare earth elements La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm containing Y) 0.01<=x<=3, 0.01<=y<=0.3, 4<=A<=16 and (2) R(BxSiyCozFe1-x-y-z)A:(where R repre sents the combination of one kind or two kinds or more of rare earth elements La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm containing Y) 0.01<=x<=0.3, 0.01<=y<=0.3, 0.01<=z<=0.98, 4<=A<= 16. Such addition of Si improves an anisotropic magnetic field and chemical properties (corrosion resistance), and a more excellent magnet material is obtained. |
