An electronic control system for a sewing machine includes a read-only memory (ROM) to store digital information to suit certain stitching patterns, and a keyboard to select a pattern. A register stores a key code signal for the selected pattern. A random access memory (RAM) stores the digital data read out from the ROM. A digital/analog converter turns the digital data into analog signals for the stitch formation section of the sewing machine. This avoids the difficulties caused by vibrations and shocks in the detachable connections between the ROM and the stitch formation section which is needed in the conventional control without ROM because a different pattern requires the plugging-in of a different ROM.
|
