This is a battery whose positive electrode is made of monovalent silver oxide without the addition of an electron conductor. The grains of positive active material (5) in the vicinity of the separator are composed, at least superficially, of metallic silver forming an electrically continuous layer (12), one part of which is electrically linked with the positive current collector (6, 1).
