PURPOSE:To eliminate the need of mechanical coupling of rods and links by detecting a speed change ratio of CVT from the ratio of oil pressure of an input hydraulic cylinder to oil pressure of an output cylinder. CONSTITUTION:Oil pressure of an input hydraulic cylinder 46 is operated in opposition to oil pressure of an output hydraulic cylinder 48, and a modulator pressure generating valve 144 for generating modulator pressure corresponding to the ratio of both oil pressure is connected to a line pressure generating valve 162 to generate line pressure corresponding to modulator pressure. In this arrangement, the speed change ratio of CVT can be detected from the ratio of oil pressure of the input hydraulic cylinder 46 to that of the output hydraulic cylinder 48, which can eliminate the need of mechanical coupling of rods and links to settle a difficult point in respect of space.
