摘要 |
PURPOSE:To reduce the load of a CPU by discriminating successively whether the input charascter strings belong to the 1st code system or the 2nd code system. CONSTITUTION:A code comparator 5 decides that an input character as belongs to an ASCII code system in the form of 1-byte information bi. Then a coincidence signal is sent to an instruction pulse generating means 6, and an indication is given to a memory means 2 to transmit the information bi to a CPU. Then a counter 7 counts +1. While an indication is given to the means 2 to send the 1-byte information bi and bi+1 to the CPU with +1 counted with the counter 7 in case the comparator 5 decides that the character as belongs to a shift JIS code system with a discordance signal supplied. The CPU can decide by the information transmitted from the means 2 and the output of the counter 7 whether the character as of a specific place is equal to an ASCII code or a shift JIS code. Thus the procedure can proceeds directly to the next processing.
