<p>The saw has a frame for several multiple-toothed blades, driven for parallel movement along an elliptical route. The drive comprises two wheels having concordant rotary motions, each wheel attached to a connecting rod which is joined to a slider. The rods have the same length and carry the side of the blade carrying frame attached for rotation at points similarly positioned relative to the rod ends. The frame side remains constantly parallel to the line connecting the axes of rotation of the two wheels. Each of the wheels can be provided with an additional linkage rod fitted at points which are diametrically and axially opposite the pivot point of the connecting rods. The saw is esp. for, stone, e.g. blocks of marble or granite. The saw combines the advantages of blade frames and disc mills, providing a high cutting rate for low blade wear.</p> |
