<p>PURPOSE:To prevent an excessive torque from being transmitted to a brake body by setting a torque limitting apparatus between a brake operating shaft and a handle. CONSTITUTION:A disc 27 is connected to a square shaft part 26 installed onto a screw shaft 6 for transmitting a brake operation force. An annular friction plate 29 is interposed between the boss part 28 of a handle 9 fitted onto the screw shaft 6 and the above-described disc 27. The friction plate 29 is pressed onto the disc 27 by a necessary pressure through the boss part 28 by a coil spring 32. When the handle 9 is turned in the direction of brake application, a revolution torque is transmitted onto the screw shaft 6 through friction 27, and brake is applied. When the revolution torque acting onto the handle 9 becomes larger than a certain value, a slip is generated between the friction plate 29 and the disc 27, and the transmission of the revolution torque over the certain value is cut-off.</p> |
