MANUFACTURE OF FOAM-IMPREGNATED NONWOVEN FABRICS

PURPOSE:To easily and exactly pack an expanded material into nonwoven fabrics by a method in which a moisture-curable type urethane composition is coated on a nonwoven fabric, an aqueous solution of a hardener is spread over the urethane composition, and the urethane composition is permeated into the nonwoven fabric while being expanded. CONSTITUTION:A moisture-curable type urethane composition is coated on a nonwoven fabric. the urethane composition used is a compound having isocyanate groups on its terminals which is obtained from reaction of compounds having two or more isocyanate groups per one molecule in such a way that the [OH]/[NCO] ratio as the molar ratio of hydroxyl group to isocyanate group becomes 1 or less. An aqueous solution of a hardener is then spread over the surface of the urethane compostion coat. The aqueous solution used is preferably ones containing a surfacetant by the reason that it must be uniformly spread over the surface of the oily urethane composition.
