PURPOSE:To obtain stable and excellent repeatability for the change in temperature, etc., of a light source by processing a low band luminance signal, red signal and a blue signal obtained by separating from the output signal of an image pickup element so as to obtain a green signal in a camera signal processing circuit which is suitable to a single tube frequency separation system color video camera, and by forming two color difference signals after these red, blue and green signals are applied with gamma correction. CONSTITUTION:The low band luminance signal YL obtained in a low-pass filter 3 is supplied to an arithmetic amplifier circuit 19. On the other hand, a modulation red signal and a modulation blue signal separated in a chrominance signal separator circuit 4 are detected in detection circuits 9 and 10, and therefore a red signal R and a blue signal B can be obtained. The red signal R and the blue signal B are level- adjusted by variable gain amplifiers 5 and 6, which are gain- controlled by the control signal supplied from input terminals 7 and 8. As a result, white balance adjustment is carried out, and said red and blue signals are applied with gamma correction by gamma correction circuits 13 and 14 and supplied to an arithmetic circuit 15. This circuit 15 processes signals R', B' and G' which are applied with gamma correction, and outputs color difference signals (R'-YL'') and (B'-YL'') to output terminals 17 and 18.
