PURPOSE:To reduce the number of component parts of a head clamp assembly and to facilitate assembly, by a construction wherein hinge shaft parts of a head clamp inserted into U-shaped bearing parts of a carrier are supported by utilizing a part of a belt presser, namely, receiving parts. CONSTITUTION:The hinge shaft parts 20 of the head clamps 19 are inserted into the bearing parts 18 of the carrier 3 from the lower opened end side of the bearing parts 19, a fitting part 26 of the belt presser 24 is fixed onto the upper surface of a belt receiver 14, and a timing belt 27 is clamped between the belt receiver 14 and a holding piece 28. In this case the hinge shaft parts 20 are supported by the receiving parts 29 of the belt presser 24. To fit the printing head 11, first a fitting flange 12 is placed on a fitting surface 13, projections 16 are engaged into holes 15, and knobs 23 of the right and left head clamps 19 limited in opening angle by stoppers 30 are pulled to the inside, whereby pressing parts 21 are pressed against the fitting flange 12, projections 22 are engaged to slanted surfaces of the projections, and the head 11 is clamped. Accordingly, the number of component parts is reduced, and assembly can be easily conducted.
