PURPOSE:To realize the high quality recording of a uniform recording dot, by equalizing the amount of ions passed through all ion stream control orifices. CONSTITUTION:The density of an ion stream is different by the distance from a corona wire 2 and, when an insulating substrate having ion stream control orifices is provided at a position of 13mm. from the corona wire 2, the ratio of the density of the ion stream at a point A directly under the corona wire 2 and that at points B, B' shifted by 7.5mm. from the point A is 1:0.5. Hereupon, when a time for passing the ion stream in order to record one dot by the ion stream control orifice at the point A (a recording pulse value) is set to tA and that at the points B, B' to tB, the amounts of ion streams passing the ion stream control orifices 4 at the points A, B, B' are made equal by makng tB longer than tA and , as a result, a uniform recording dot can be obtained. Herein, because the intensities of electric fields at both points A, B are different, recording pulse amplitudes tA, tB are determined with due regard to this point. |
