PURPOSE:To miniaturize a device and to enlarge memory capacity by enabling a manual operation and displacement of an optical system of an image detection element when an original is scanned in main and width directions and image-inputted, and making it possible to execute the scanning in one direction at least. CONSTITUTION:A front case 8 is held with a right hand, its tip 8g is set to the upper stream with respect to an arrow 42a direction of the objected image, and an input button 23 is operated. The front case 8 is operated and shifted in the arrow 42a direction, and a stop button 24 is operated at the time of inputting the objected image. For example, when an output connector 27 is used in such condition where the connector 27 is connected to an external computer 44 by a cable 43, instantaneous inputting of the inputted image to the external computer 44 is possible by operating an output button 25. The quantity of inputted image information by operation one time is about 50X50mm. in terms of original dimensions. When a large amount of originals are read, it is recommended that this operation is repeated and the external computer 44 edits originals.
