PURPOSE:To enable display of characters and graphic information with binary codes on a part of a television screen by switching picture signals of television broadcasting into data of binary codes denoting characters and graphic information stored in memory for a horizontal scanning period, and vice versa. CONSTITUTION:A controller 1 outputs address signals Ao-n to a memory 2 due to a vertical synchronizing signal C. The memory 2 outputs one field of data of a data display part 7 stored in those addresses to a P/S conversion part 3 in parallel. The P/S conversion part 3 outputs data for one horizontal scanning line in series due to output signal E1 and E2 of the controller 1, and converts them into a picture signal level. When an output signal F1 of the controller 1 is high, picture signals for popular television broadcasting are transferred to a transmitter 5, and when an F2 is high, data of binary codes which are outputted from the conversion part 3 are transferred to the transmitter 5. In terms of a display method of a binary code, it is assumed that the part in which luminance of a data display part 7 at one scanning line is high at the left side, and the luminance is low at the right side is ''1'', and the case in reverseis ''0''. The data at right and left sides are outputted from the P/S conversion part 3 by the output signals E1 and E2 of the controller 1. |
