A printing device, for example a typewriter, has a first and a second support device which has a correction type feed mechanism and an ink-ribbon feed mechanism and is tiltable. The ink ribbon and the correction ribbon are tilted between an upper actuating position and a lower rest position. A tilting control mechanism has a control body which has at least one cutout which is provided with stop edges and with a free path. Two pins of connection arms, which are connected to the first and second support device, can slide in the cutout. They are each stopped by the stop edges. When the control body turns in one direction, a stop edge thrusts a support device upwards while a pin slides freely along the cutout. The stepping motor determines the upper position. The ink ribbon and the correction ribbon are situated in a superimposed position during the correction operation. <IMAGE>
