A container for metal extrusion presses with an inner bush 2 which is surrounded by a shell 5. An intermediate bush 4 is furthermore arranged between the inner bush 2 and the shell 5. Both bushes 2 and 4 are composed of materials of different strength; they are shrunk onto one another with cylindrical or tapered circumferential surfaces. The outer surfaces of one or both bushes 2, 4 are coated with one or more layers 6, 7 of a material of high thermal conductivity. <IMAGE>
