PURPOSE:To aim at compactification in each air cooler, by forming the air cooler for a high-pressure stage supercharger and the air cooler for a low-pressure stage supercharger solidly together. CONSTITUTION:An exhaust turbine 4A of a high-pressure stage supercharge 4 is driven by exhaust E out of an exhaust manifold 8 and thereby a blower 4B on the same axis is rotated. Next, an exhaust turbine 3A of a low-pressure stage supercharge 3 is driven by the exhaust E out of the exhaust turbine 4A and thereby a blower 3B on the same axis rotated whereby air A is pressurized as shown in A1 (see illustration) at the blower 3B of the low-pressure stage supercharger 3 and led into the blower 4B of the high-pressure stage supercharger 4 by way of a low-pressure stage cooler 5A. Then, the pressurized air A2 is led into a combustion chamber from a suction manifold 7 after being cooled at a high-pressure stage air cooler 5B. |
