PURPOSE:To provide a dye compsn. having excellent dyeability and levelling to fiber blends of basic dye-dyeable and acid dye-dyeable fibers, containing a basic dye and a specified anionic surfactant. CONSTITUTION:A dye compsn. contains a basic dye and an anionic surfactant of the formula (wherein l, n are each 0-10; m is 4-80; M is K, Na, NH4 or an alkylamine such as methylamine, dimethylamine or diethylamine; either l or n is 0). Pref. M is Na. The surfactant is used in a quantity of 1-5pts.wt. per 1pt.wt. dye. Optionally, water, ethylene glycol, propylene glycol, methanol, etc. may be used. Examples of the basic dyes are methane dyes, azamethin dyes, diphenylmethane dyes, etc.
