An endoscope light source apparatus comprises a light source (6) for supplying a light to an endoscope and a case (3) which contains the light source (6), which includes an inlet (16) connected to a compressed uninflammable gas source, allowing for the influx of a compressed cooling uninflammable gas into the case (3), and an outlet (19) enabling gases remaining in the case (3) to be drawn out by a difference between the pressures inside and outside the case.
