PURPOSE:To prevent noise due to collision between a link and a sprocket by forming the link tooth flank such that the tooth flank of the link tooth will slip contact with the tooth flank of the sprocket upon gearing of the chain link with the sprocket. CONSTITUTION:Point O' is set on the extension of a line passing through the centers of a pair of holes 2, 3 to be inserted with a coupling member while being separated by same distance P with that between the centers of said holes 2, 3. While the radius R of a circle circumscribing with the tooth flank of a sprocket 10 around the point O' when two adjoining links at the extended side of said line will gear with the sprocket 10 and become standstill with respect to the sprocket 10 is obtained. The inside tooth flank 7 at the extended side of line is formed by an arched face having the curvature of R around the point O' while the inside tooth flank 9 of the tooth 5 is also formed symmetrically with the inside tooth flank 7 against the center line of the link 1. |
