In a VHF-FM receiving device with a dynamic expander, which can be operated in vehicles, the expander characteristic, which, in the case of high antenna input voltages, has a gradient of 2:1 and a maximum expander effect of 10 dB, is converted continuously for lower antenna input voltages into a characteristic with the gradient 1:1, i.e. with no expander effect.
