<p>PURPOSE:To prevent an original from slipping off by supporting a platen on a copying machine through link mechanism, and holding the platen horizontally when the upper part of the copying machine is opened. CONSTITUTION:The upper part 3 of the copying machine is supported through a hinge part 4 so that it is opened to the lower part 2 of the copying machine and closed freely. An uncopied original platen 6 and a copied original platen 7 are supported on the upper part 3 of the copying machine through hinge parts 8 and 9 and coupled by a supporting bar 10 and links 11 and 12 through the link mechanism. Therefore, when the upper part 3 of the copying machine is opened, the platens 6 and 7 are both held horizontally to prevent an original from slipping off, and this is very convenient for paper jam processing and other maintenance operations.</p> |
