PURPOSE:To prolong the life of a photosensitive body by connecting an impedance element in series with a circuit consisting of a bias power source, conductive fur brush, and image carrier, and controlling the current flowing through the circuit. CONSTITUTION:Residual toner 37 on the surface of a drum 36 is rubbed against the conductive fur brush 19 according to the arrow-directional rotation of the drum 36. At this time, the brush 19 is impressed through an electrode 20 with a constant DC bias voltage rectified the AC output voltage of an AC power source 34 through the circuit consisting of a transformer 22, diode 21, capacitor 33, and resistance 32, thereby attracting the toner 37. The toner 37 attracted by the conductive fur brush 19 is rubbed against a metallic roller impressed with a DC bias voltage and electrostatic attractive force stronger than electrostatic attractive force between the brush 19 and toner 37 operates on the toner 37. Consequently, the toner 37 is attracted and collected, and acraped off with a blade. Thus, the life of the photosensitive body is prolonged. |
