PURPOSE:To permit a density of image elements to become higher than the case in which a multicolor printing was performed by rotating a printing head when a monochromatic printing is performed. CONSTITUTION:When a multicolor printing is to be performed, a printing head 12 is moved in F direction and printing is performed by a selected wire 7 and the ink of the selected color of an ink ribbon 8 is transfered onto a recording paper 9. When a monochromatic printing is to be performed, the printing head 12 is held to pivot on an axle 13 as the center. At this time, wires 7 are arranged vertically to the moving direction H' of the printing head 12 and are equally spaced, and the ink ribbon 8 consists of a single color. Although the printing head 12 moves toward F' direction, an individual wire is driven at such time when the wire concerned came to an appropriate postion. Due to the reason as stated above, the image elements 16 are printed most densely in the longitudianl direction. |
