Hydraulic brake system for motor vehicles in which by means of an electronic control device the pressure connection between brake master cylinder and brake circuit is on the one hand automatically interrupted as soon as and for as long as the output pressure of the brake master cylinder lies above a predetermined (low) minimum pressure value, and on the other hand the output pressure of an electro-hydraulic servo device acting directly on the brake circuit is adjusted to a value which is proportional to the output value of the brake master cylinder but higher than the latter. <IMAGE>
