PURPOSE:To remove a harmful resonance point due to the soft coupling between a servo use head arm and a head arm carriage by forming the servo use head arm and head arm carriage in one structure. CONSTITUTION:The servo use head arm 5 which supports a servo head 3 is united with the head arm carriage 6, and a data head arm 4 which supports a data use head 2 is fitted to the head arm carriage 6 as a different component. Servo information which is already written on a specific surface of a rotating magnetic disk 1 is read with the servo head 3 and a driving motor 8 is driven with a servo use electric circuit to position the head arm carriage 6 properly. In this case, the servo head arm 5 and head arm carriage 6 are in one structure, so a harmful resonance point in positioning tracking is removed.
