PURPOSE:To improve a quality of a recoreded image with extremely reduced frequency of color overlapping by making structures of dither matrix differ for every color. CONSTITUTION:Within 2X2 dither matrix the thresholds A-D for toning of each color of yellow YL, cyanine CY, magenta MG are in relation with others as indicated, for instance, in A<B<C<D. In case of toning of an original picture by using the dither pattern as stated above; in the first scanning line, the thresholds A, C are used for the toning at the time of the toning by the dither pattern of yellow, and the thresholds C, B are used for the toning at the time of the toning by the dither pattern of cyanine. Thus, by changing the arrangements of the thresholds by color within the same dither matrix, the frequency of overlapping of each color to be reproduced on a recording paper is drastically reduced, even if, the concentration of each color after color separation of the original picture happens to be within the same thresholds between A and B. |
