PURPOSE:To provide a thermosensitive compsn. which can improve the clarity and the storage stability of printing on records and allows a thermosensitive dye and a developer to coexist stably with each other in an unreacted state, containing a thermosensitive dye and ascorbic acid as a developer. CONSTITUTION:A thermosensitive compsn. contains a thermosensitive dye and ascorbic acid or its derivative as a developer. Preferred examples of the thermosensitive dyes are fluoran compds. and spiro-pyran compds. 8-Diethylamino-7- methoxyfluoran, 8-amino-5-methylfluoran and N-8,8-trimethylindolinobenzospiropyran are particularly preferred. Examples of ascorbic acid and derivatives thereof are L-ascorbic acid, D-ascorbic acid and derivatives thereof. Examples of the ascorbic acid derivatives are ascorbic acid analog, salts and esters.
