PURPOSE:To form compactly a facing by narrowing an interval between an original platen and a photosensitive drum, by providing an image forming lens array in parallel to an original surface, in an exposing part of a copying machine for forming an original image on the photosensitive drum. CONSTITUTION:An original image on an original platen 50 is scanned and exposed by a lens array 6 on a photosensitive drum 5. Up to the present, an image has been formed on the photosensitive drum by providing vertically the lens array on the original platen, but according to this mechanism, two reflecting mirrors 47, 48 are used, and between them the lens array is provided in parallel to the original platen surface, therefore, a distance L1 between the original platen surface and the photosensitive drum can be reduced.
