PURPOSE:To extend the life of a closed lead storage battery by making the height of an electrode plate higher than a predetermined value and making the ratio to the final capillary height of a porous separator a specific value. CONSTITUTION:The height of the electrode plate of a closed lead storage battery is determined by the final capillary height (l) of a porous separator, and the electrode plate height (h) is 150mm. or more, preferably 200mm. or more. On the other hand, even if an electrode plate with a height of 150mm. or more is used, the short-life phenomenon caused by the layering of an electrolyte can be subjugated by making the ratio h/l between the final capillary height (l) and the electrode plate height (h) 0.4 or less. Accordingly, the life of the closed lead storage battery can be extended. |
