In a suction belt conveyor, the plate (1), onto whose underside the lower runs of the continuously circulating belt (3) abut and which is provided with suction apertures (9), is provided with longitudinal grooves (2). One suction aperture (9) opens into each groove (2), at least at the delivery end. A longer section which is free of suction apertures is connected to this in the direction of transport. Transverse grooves, which are likewise connected to suction apertures, may also be present. Besides requiring less suction, the invention is especially advantageous in that it facilitates ejection of the conveyed material. It is furthermore advantageous specifically for sheets of veneering material and similar easily deformable sheet-like material in that such material is automatically smoothed out. <IMAGE> |
