PURPOSE:To use two kinds of information sets having different utilizing level and to protect them in terms of hardware by adding a write protection signal to each of a side 0 and a side 1 so as to divide one disc into a write protection area and a write permission area. CONSTITUTION:A protect sensor circuit 1 is connected to a protect decision circuit 2 and a protect setting section 3 is connected to the protect decision circuit 2. The circuit 2 is connected to a write protection circuit 4. A detection signal (a) is generated when a write protect notch of a medium is detected. A setting signal (b) is generated when a protect setting section 3 sets protect of a side 0 and a setting signal (c) is generated when the protect setting section 3 sets the protect of the side 1. When the detection signal (a) is generated, the protect decision circuit 2 generates a protect signal (d) regardless of the state of other signals. When the protect signal (d) is generated, the write protection circuit 4 brings the floppy disc device to the write inhibition state. |
