摘要 PURPOSE:To manufacture a synthetic resin light transmitting material high in performance by enlarging the range of combination of the monomers for preparing a transparent gel material to be used for the manufacture of said light transmitting material. CONSTITUTION:The manufacturing process of a synthetic resin light transmitting material continuously changing in refractive index almost in proportion to the square of the distance from the central axis consists of a step for adding a monomer Ms remaining as a monomer in an amt. of 5-95wt% at the time of perfectly polymerizing a monomer Ma to form a reticular polymer Pa; a step for polymerizing Ma in a monomer mixture to form a gel; a step for bringing the gel into contact with a monomer M' for forming a polymer Pa' to exchange the monomer Ms in the gel for Ma'; and a step for dispersing the following monomer Mb into said monomer having Ms exchanged for Ma' and polymerizing this monomer Mb for forming a polymer Pb different in refractive index from a material composed of the polymers Pa and Pa' when said gel has perfectly polymerized.
