PURPOSE:To provide an oil or fat for cosmetic use, consisting of the extract oil of grape seed obtained from the fermentation residue of grape in the brewing of wine, giving excellent feeding to the skin, and having high impregnation property to the skin, high moisture retention, and antioxidation activity. CONSTITUTION:The grape seeds obtained from the fermentation residue of grape in the brewing of wine, are crushed and extracted with a hydrocarbon solvent such as n-hexane. The extracted liquid is filtered and the solvent is distilled out to obtain an extract oil. The oil is used as the base oil or fat of various cosmetic necessitating the moisturizing effect or antioxidation effect, e.g. cream, sun-oil, hair-care cosmetic, etc. Since the extract oil has slight fermentation odor like the natural odor, it mitigates the smell of the oil or fat for cosmetic, and harmonizes well with the compound perfume added to the cosmetic. It can be produced in a large quantity at a low cost.
