Date Jan. 7, 1982.An apparatus for practicing tennis or other ball games including a pair of upstanding posts, an elastic cord extending between the posts and a ball connected to the elastic cord. A vertical net is arranged forwardly of the post and in the path of movement of the ball. When the ball is struck, the elastic cord stretches until the ball contacts the net which causes dissipation of at least some of the stored energy in the ball, thus reducing the rate of return of the ball towards the posts.
