<p>A suction sieve drum sucks slivers, etc. through several feed tubes to chamber and passes them over drive rolls to outlet delivery surface. The drum includes a stationary suction shield in the region of rolls to assist lift-off of the slivers from the drum surface. The threading up time for low strength slivers, etc. in drawing creel feed tubes is reduced. Piecing of slivers, etc. from emptied sliver cans is simpler. The sliver feeding arrangement is simple, economical and requires min. maintenance.</p> |
