PURPOSE:To prevent the dissolutive corrosion of a machining vessel and keep the heat of a machining liquid from being transferred to a table, by making the machining vessel of a thermal and electrical insulator. CONSTITUTION:A workpiece 1 is secured on a fixed plate 2. When a wire electrode 5 is tightly fed between an upper and a lower wire guides 3, 4 a machining liquid 7 is sent to the machining liquid supply holes of the guides by a machining liquid supply pump 13 so that the liquid is projected onto the machined portion of a workpiece 1. Since a machining vessel 6 is made of an electric insulator such as ceramic and plastic, no electrolysis is caused between the wire electrode 5 and the vessel. The heat of the workpiece 1 and that of the machining liquid 7, which are generated from the energy of discharge, is blocked by the vessel 6 so that the heat is hardly transferred to a table 8. The thermal strain of the table 8 is thus suppressed so that the accuracy of positioned or the like of the table is not deteriorated. |
