PURPOSE:To provide the titled typewriter capable of easily selecting the kind of lines and automatically drawing uniformly each kind of line at a designated position, wherein a rule-drawing means having a thermal printing head is provided separately from type bars, and a power source for the means and a power source for driving a platen are controlled. CONSTITUTION:After fitting a thermal recording paper or the like around the platen 12, an electric current is passed to a solenoid 20 to bring the thermal printing head 14 into close contact with the thermal recording paper or the like. Then, an electric current is passed to the head 14 and also to a drive source for the platen 12, thereby drawing a line. In this case, by controlling a power source circuit for the head 14 and a power source circuit for driving the platen 12, a line having an arbitrary length can be drawn at an arbitrary position. Further, by changing the frequency of a pulse of the power source for the head 14, it is possible to automatically draw various kinds of lines such as broken lines and dot-dash lines. |
