PURPOSE:To improve the seizure resisting and wear resisting properties of a titled guide shoe by providing prescribed layers containing ceramics to the surface of guide shoe opposite to a material to be rolled which is liable to cause seizure. CONSTITUTION:A base layer 7 of joining metals is formed on the surface, opposite to a material 1, 10 to be rolled, of a main body 5 of guide shoe 4. Next, the lower layer 8 of ceramic single body is padded on the layer 7 by flame spraying, and the upper layer 9 of the mixture of heat and wear resisting metal and ceramics is formed on the layer 8. In manufacturing a pipe by a device equipped with the guide shoes 4, the wear of shoes 4 is restricted and the seizure between the material 1, 10 and the shoes 4 or rolls is also prevented when the material 1, 10 comes into contact with the lower layer 8. |
